Today....I'm thankful for....TODAY! : )

I had THE most excellent day today! Yep, I did.

Got up at 4:30 am for Black Friday. Left the house with Doug about 5:00ish, headed for Radio Shack in Elk River. There were a few people in line, store opened at 5:30. Wasn't too cold out, which was good. I was getting pretty cold though by the time we got in, but not too bad.

I got the LAST little notebook computer they had, and almost didn't get it. The manager was gonna give it to another lady, but I piped up (stood up for MYSELF!!) and said I was in line first, which I was. He agreed and gave it to me! Yay. So now I'm typing on my own little laptop, it's so cute and it's all MINE! I got to delete everyone else's favorites when I imported them, cause it's MINE and I don't need to see 'em! : ) Yep, I'm excited!

From there Doug and I went to Menards. Got out of the car, walked toward the store and decided it was not worth waiting for the one thing we wanted, and didn't really want or need all that bad (battery jump start thingies for each of us...we bought the girls each one last year and they're pretty nice to have). So we got back in the car and went to Perkins for breakfast.

From there Doug dropped me off at the van and he headed home. I went shopping. : ) Hit Fashion Bug first, so I got there just after 7am. Most of what I got was either on clearance or one of their doorbuster deals. Got myself two pair of shoes and a lot of tops (I think nine or eleven), some for me, some for Briana...all for $102.00! Cool.

From there I went to Kohl's in Rogers. I really want to find some good jeans, no luck there. The line when I walked in was from the register in front all the way to the back of the store. Ugh. I also wanted to look at their dishes on sale, so I just tried on clothes and wandered for a bit. Found a pair of $44 dress pants for Bri on clearance for $8, and a few other small things. Nothing worth waiting 2 hrs. in the checkout line for. But...as I was walking past the jewelry counter, they were checking out a lady, and I asked if I could check out there. She said "sure!" So I checked out and was out of there in near record time, while everyone else was still standing in the loooooooooooooong line. : ) Love it when things work out like that.

From there I went back through Elk River and stopped at Menards. Parking lot was full but I got a space pretty easily. Went in, got the chargers and some baking pans for the girls (just because) and was outta there in about 15 minutes. No lines by then.

Came home, and shortly after that the mailman pulled up honking his horn. Certified mail...Doug's settlement check from worker's comp. Yay! WE headed to the bank, made a deposit and then went for coffee. Stopped on the way home for a bottle of champagne.

Came home, made banana bread and then chicken curry for dinner. And now I'm playing on my computer! Oh, and a few minutes ago a lady called with a near $100 soap order!

Days like this don't happen very often...Tiime to open that champagne!!
